A 12-cylinder, four-stroke, water-cooled, direct injected, turbocharged, aftercooled, 1,150 horsepower (860 kW) Komatsu SA12V170E diesel engine powers the 152.6 t (168 short tons) D575A.

The D575A features a standard blade that measures 11 feet 11 inches (3.63 m) high and 24 feet 3 inches (7.39 m) wide, enabling the D575A to move 90 cubic yards (69 m3) of material per pass. The D575A measures 16 feet 0 inches (4.88 m) tall, 38 feet 5 inches (11.71 m) long has a ground clearance of 2 feet 5 inches (0.74 m).[2]

The D575A has a ground contact area of 101.55 square feet (9.434 m2) and exerts an average ground pressure of 23 pounds per square inch (160 kPa)

CAT D11R

The D11N was introduced in February 1986 to replace the D10 The D11N had some major improvements over the D10, it includes a bigger track and blade, a longer track by 21 inches (0.53 m). The U blade was just under 21 feet (6.4 m) long and 7 feet (2.1 m) high. This increased the blade capacity to 45 cu yd (34 m³). The D11Ns weight was 204,517 pounds (92,767 kg). It was powered by a 770 horsepower (570 kW), 2,105 cubic inch 3508 V-8 Diesel engine. The D11Ns improvements made it over 10 percent more productive than the D10. In 1987 a hydraulically powered impact ripper was added to the D11N which raised the weight up to 225,950 lb (102,490 kg). This would become known as the D11N Impact Ripper.
